The Black Elk Incentive paid out over $73,000 during the Fall Black Elk Cutting Horse Classic!! Thank You to all that nominated their horses and congrats to the money earners!

We have submitted the earnings to the NCHA and have been informed the earnings are eligible towards the Horses Lifetime Earnings and not the Rider Earnings. Sorry for any misunderstanding.  There is Always going to be a few changes as we navigate our way through the development of this new and exciting Incentive Program.

 

Remember December 31st is the deadline to nominate older horses with the Reduced Fees!!

Black Elk is proud to announce the development of the Black Elk Aged Event Incentive Fund

With $30,000 in added money for 2025!

1. Once nominated, the horse is eligible for the Black Elk Open and/or the Non-Pro LAE Series (Futurity, Derby, and Classic Challenge). The nomination is a one-time fee and allows the horse to be eligible for all the Black Elk Aged events!

2. As a special incentive, we have reduced the nomination fee for the first year only (2025):
- $500 for 3-year-olds
- $400 for 4-year-olds
- $300 for 5 / 6 year olds
- $400 for 2-year-olds
- $200 for horses born in 2024 or 2025

3. Black Elk Cutting Horse Association will donate $5,000 per class for each of the Open and Non-Pro Futurity, Derby, and Classic Challenge for the 2025 Fall Show, and starting in 2026, add $5000 for both the Open and Non-Pro classes during the Spring and Fall shows.

4. Substitutions / Transfers and Change of Ownership: A nominated horse may change owner and retain nomination status under the new owner. The nomination can NOT be moved from one horse to another.

5. The list of nominated horses will be posted on the Black Elk website. It is the owners responsibility to ensure the horse's information is listed correctly.

6. Non-registered horses are eligible with proof of age.

7. Entry fee $500 per class.

8. Nomination and Entry fees must be paid in full before the First Go Round.

9. The Jack-Pot Purse (incentive entry fees plus $5000 Black Elk added money) will be
paid out to the top 5 nominated horses using the aggregate results in each class. 80% goes to the owner of the horse; 10% to the nominator of the horse AND 10% to the registered breeder of the horse.
Breakdown for the payout is 1st: 30% 2nd: 25% 3rd: 20% 4th: 15% and 5th: 10%.

10. Monies earned in the Black Elk Aged Event Incentive are NCHA eligible for horse and go towards year-end achievement awards.

11. Nomination Fees will stay in the Black Elk Aged Event Incentive Fund to continue to Grow the Jackpot for subsequent years.

12. Black Elk Cutting Horse Association and its Board of Directors reserve the right to wrap up the incentive with a 1-year notice and all money remaining within the Nomination Pot will be disbursed in the final year of the show.

13. Nomination Fees starting in 2026 will be as follows :
- $1500 for 3 years
- $1000 for 4-year-old
- $500 for 5/6 year old
- $700 for 2-year-olds (Due Dec 31)
- $350 for yearlings (Due Dec 31st)
- $200 for foals under 1 year (due Dec 31st)
